Dear Fellow Givers,
Three words define Advent: A Giving Church. Here’s a partial list of ways we’ve been giving hope in our community this past year:
We’ve fed the hungry through our donations to the Center for Food Action. And we’ve supported CFA in other ways – by filling backpacks, snack packs and Easter baskets for their youngest clients and by providing dozens and dozens of reusable shopping bags to replace the plastic they can no longer use.
We’ve supported the ministry to the homeless at St Matthew Trinity in Hoboken and wrote letters supporting Lutheran Immigration and Refugee and Immigration Services priorities.
With our Endowment, we’ve helped local families through the Wyckoff Love Fund and Wyckoff-based Families for Families, as well as Ukrainian families served by Lutheran World Relief.
We continue to support the Bergen Volunteer Medical Initiative, which provides health care to people who can’t pay.
Advent stood with our LGBTQ community by participating in the Mahwah Pride event. And we were one of a very few religious organizations to have a presence at Wyckoff Day.
In the community, we are known as A Giving Church. And no wonder - the words “serving together” are right there in our mission statement.
Now is the time to renew our commitment to the mission by making a pledge of support for the coming year. You can submit a statement of intent through the form below.
Yours in Giving,
Bill Whitney, President/Stewardship
